Four airports in Brazil have Advantage, nothing to do with AA’s AAdvantage, lounges accessible using Priority Pass, and other lounge programs.
I have frequently used two Advantage lounges at Rio de Janeiro’s and Sao Paulo’s Paulo’sc airports of Santos Dumont (SDU) and Congonhas (CGH).
You can access AdvantagAdvantage’sr their lounges here (still with the old photos of this Rio one).
When I was flying from Rio to Sao Paulo on Monday last week, I was surprised to learn that the lounge had gone through a complete refresh with some more seating.
Employees were putting a finishing touch to the update by adjusting the monitors and ensuring that the security cameras were working.
There is a new seating area “outside” of the former lounge between the new entrance and the door.
The food selection is the same as previously.
The furniture has been completely updated.
Conclusion
As these are domestic city center airports (no international flights), there is no need to show up at the airport too much in advance.
The lounges in Santos Dumont and Congonhas are entirely adequate for a short visit and having some beverages and snacks. The service tends to be quite good, and most of the food and beverage items are self-service.
