Air Canada Aeroplan has launched several products to get its members to burn miles for hotel stays (usually bad value) instead of award flights.
Aeroplan has now decided to offer a rebate on the number of points used for hotel nights through April 30, 2023, if booked by December 23. You must register for this offer.

- 25% Rebate = Stays of 4 nights or longer
- 15% Rebate = Stays of 3 nights
- 10% Rebate = Stays of 1 or 2 nights
Conclusion
Airline miles are generally worth the most when you use them for long-haul international business class tickets and not when redeeming for merchandise awards.
You also have to remember that hotel loyalty program benefits don’t apply for stays booked on OTA platforms, including what Aeroplan uses.
There might be instances, however, when hotel awards using miles might be worthwhile.
