Air New Zealand today announced that it would extend all existing unexpired credit as of September 30 through January 31, 2024.
Passengers must use their credits by that date for flights through the end of 2024.

Air New Zealand’s announcement:
We’re extending the expiry date on all credits 💜 If you have one as of 30 September 2022, you now have until 31 Jan 2024 to book a new flight and until 31 Dec 2024 to take that flight 🙌 pic.twitter.com/0uJqsNrszV

Conclusion
Air New Zealand was one of those airlines that didn’t want to refund passengers for flights they canceled and offered credits instead, which, IMHO, is criminal.
I am glad that they have decided to give affected passengers more time to use these credits, which must come in handy for those that don’t live in New Zealand.
You may have, however, trouble getting through to the airline, as their phone lines are mostly busy, and replies to Twitter DMs take days.
