British Airways has offered a 25% reduction in renewing Executive Club Silver (Oneworld Sapphire) or upgrading to Gold (Oneworld Emerald) per their previous policy (read more here).
Now, they have decided to extend the lower Silver requalification requirement for select members (unclear if there is a change to the previous policy).

Previous Policy:
Silver
Silver members don’t see their tier extended past June but can requalify on just 300 Tier Points if their membership year ends July – September.
Gold
Gold members whose Tier Collection year ends between July – September 2022 will see their status extended by another 12 months.
Gold Guest List
Gold Guest List members whose membership year ends on or before December 31, 2022, will see it extended by further 12 months.
Lowered the qualification requirements through December 31, 2022:
You can qualify or up your status on fewer Tier Points through the end of 2022 regardless of whether your membership year ends in 2022 or 2023.

Update:
We have automatically applied the reduced threshold to Silver Members with Tier Point Collection Year end dates in July, August and September 2022. If you collect 300 Tier Points by the end of your current Tier Point Collection Year, or fly with us on 25 eligible flights, your Silver status will automatically renew.
Please note, the Tier Point tracker on ba.com will continue to show a threshold of 450 Tier Points as this reduction does not apply to all Members.
Conclusion
Let’s see if there are further changes to requalification requirements or status rollovers due to chaos at BA’s Heathrow hub that has put off many using the airline (if they can even buy tickets).
It is unclear to whom this new policy applies, as BA previously communicated that the lower qualification threshold would be in place for members whose Tier Point Collection Tear ends in July, August, and September this year.
It doesn’t look very promising for my GGL requalification in March 2023, as I have given up flying on BA and used SkyTeam airlines instead.
