Etihad has launched a new promotion in form of a one-week flash sale to buy Etihad Guest miles with a 45% bonus that ends on June 1, 2022.
Guest members have an annual limit and can buy up to 100,000 miles while Platinum members have an increased maximum amount of 150,000.
This campaign is considered a Flash Sale that’s only available for a very short time, in this case roughly a week.

I really would like to know where Etihad comes up with these random bonus amounts as they are different every time and rarely even.
There are three tiers of bonus when purchasing points under this promotion:
- Min 4,000 Miles – 15% Bonus
- Min 21,000 Miles – 25% Bonus
- Min 41,000 Miles – 45% Bonus

The price of a mile (one) purchased under this offer is 1.38 cents each. Remember that Etihad sold miles in 2021 with up to a 70% bonus so this promotion isn’t exactly outstanding.

My favorite partners with them are ANA, Air Canada, Korean Air and Virgin Australia but it’s really on a case-by-case basis depending on which routes you want to fly and redeem on.
For example, a Business Class roundtrip on ANA between Tokyo and Los Angeles would require 126,000 Miles which cost $1730 under this promotion.
Conclusion
Etihad has partner-specific award tables (some are fantastic!), and you need to contact Guest to have rewards flights booked and ticketed.
It may make sense to buy Etihad miles under this offer IF you can use them for long-haul premium awards on their own or partner flights. However, I would not stock up on this sale as there are likely better sales for Etihad miles later in the year.

The Promotion provides an Eligible Member with the opportunity to earn a percentage of the Etihad Guest Miles purchased as an additional complimentary bonus (the “Bonus Miles”) during the Promotion Period from 00.01 GST on 23rd May 2022 to 23.59 GST on 1st June 2022. The Bonus Miles an Eligible Member can earn will be based upon the number of Etihad Guest Miles purchased (the “Offer”). This Offer is available only for transactions made to Buy Miles on etihadguest.com via the Points Platform, Etihad Guest Contact Centres and cannot be applied in combination with another offer that may be available on the Buy Miles product. The currency is displayed based on the members country of residence assigned in the Etihad Guest profile.
Miles may be purchased for $0.02 USD per mile. Additional GST/HST will be charged to Canadian residents. The Maximum miles that a member can purchase in a calendar year will be based on their Membership Tier at the time of making a purchase. For Platinum members the maximum will be 150,000, and for Bronze, Silver and Gold Tier members the maximum will be 100,000 Etihad Guest Miles. Purchased miles are not refundable and are applicable towards all Etihad Guest awards.
