IHG & Chase Have Finally Posted Missing Points?

IHG had a significant hack in early September that completely took their systems down for two days, and it has been a long and slow road to recovering all the IT capabilities.

We ran a reader question in early October about missing points from IHG & Chase-affiliated credit cards (read more here) and the lack of communication from both companies about when these points would be credited.

Here’s what was posted to my IHG One Rewards account this week:

It is difficult to reconcile what is posted and when. The 1,075 points might be for a stay on my most recent Chase statement. The 31,186 points are definitely for my stays in August (Canada).

Conclusion

IHG customer service has given amusing reasons for a point posting delay from “IHG System Upgrade” (aka the hack) to blaming Chase.

I am glad that it appears that, at least in my case, the missing points have now been deposited.

There are several stays on my most recent statements that I need to audit because, albeit being IHG-affiliated hotels, the number of points has been under the travel multiplier 5X than 10X. However, it should not be this difficult.

Have you received all the missing points from IHG-affiliated credit cards?
