IHG has now launched a bonus miles offer for United Airlines MileagePlus member stays like they have done with several other airline partners this fall.
MileagePlus members can earn 1,000 bonus miles for stays of two nights or longer booked after August 1 using a specific bonus miles rate.

Note that you must change your IHG One Rewards earning preference from points to partner miles/points and have United Airlines chosen as the designated partner.
You must book the United bonus miles rate offer to earn the 1,000 bonus miles for each stay. These bonus miles are in addition to the base miles you earn.
A member can earn a maximum of 15,000 bonus miles from this offer.

Conclusion
The bonus miles rate plan is NOT inflated, but not necessarily the lowest either.
Even if my goal would be to maximize MileagePlus miles, I would instead take advantage of IHG bonus points promotions and then convert points to miles (you will likely earn more this way).

Qualifying Stays are stays booked under a qualifying rate. In the event that two or more Eligible Members check-in to the same room, base miles and any bonus miles under this Promotion will only be credited to the account of the Eligible Member who made the booking. If an Eligible Member books more than one room at a hotel for the same or overlapping nights, they will receive bonus miles for this Promotion on only one of the bookings that qualify. No bonus miles will be awarded under this Promotion based on nights stayed prior to or after the Promotion Period.
