Indonesia, which was in hot water this summer for hours-long immigration lines at its Bali Airport, has launched a new e-VOA service to speed up the entry process.
Indonesia already teamed up with VFS Global last month to offer visa-on-arrival with expedited immigration clearance and meet & greet for a hefty fee (read more here).
You can access Indonesia’s page for e-VOA here.
Remember that visitors from Asean countries don’t need visas to enter Indonesia. This new e-VOA is only available if you enter Indonesia through Jakarta or Bali airports. The price of the e-VOA is 500,000 IDR ($32) + credit card fee.

Conclusion
Many nationals didn’t require any visas to enter Indonesia before the pandemic.
It would be the right time for Indonesia to remove this VOA and e-VOA, which are nothing more than a cash grab from the country’s government.
I doubt that this speeds up the immigration clearance at the airport because the actual immigration and not the VOA counter, where you buy the sticker, is the bottleneck.
