ITA Airways, previously Alitalia, has informed its Volare frequent flier program members that their status is extended by 12 months through December 31, 2023.
Many have matched their status with ITA Airways in hopes of getting it honored by SkyTeam member airlines (mixed success). Also, Italy’s government has tried to offload the airline for more than a year without much success.

This is good news for Volare members that their status has been extended by 12 months.
It is still unclear if there is a business case to keep ITA Airways flying, considering that all of its predecessors (Alitalia went through several reorganizations) only kept losing money.
