Marriott made minor changes to the Terms & Conditions guest loyalty program in October 2022.
There is a defined maximum now in place for points that a member can earn from an event, and there is a change in how Residences participate.

Luxury Collection:
Previously

Marriott Bonvoy Events

5.3.a. Earning Points. Excluding special promotions or incentives, a Member will earn two Points for every one U.S. dollar ($1.00) spent on actualized Qualifying Event charges, up to a maximum of 60,000 Points as the base earning per Qualifying Event.

Residence Clubs:

Conclusion
The limit of 200,000 points per event may affect Meeting and Event Planners that bring in big business and may have received significant kickbacks from the hotels in the form of points.
I am still not convinced how you can do an all-inclusive under the Luxury Collection brand. I am eager to try them out, though.
