For years, Marriott has offered Breakaway leisure discounts for many employees of its most significant account.

The program was further expanded in October to include employees of 219 large corporations. Employees of these businesses are eligible for up to 30% off weekend discount, which often has weekday availability. The rate is not valid for business travel.

Conclusion

Marriott has dramatically expanded the eligibility of this rate plan in 2022 for a far greater number of companies than previously. It is not always the cheapest rate, but occasionally, like in the examples above, it allows eligible members to save significantly.

Here are the short Terms & Conditions:

Discount valid on BreakAway rate reservations at participating hotels. Rates are not valid for business travel. Offer not applicable to groups of ten or more. A limited number of rooms are available and blackout dates or other restrictions may apply. Rates do not include resort fees, service fees, taxes, incidentals or additional per room, per night charges that may be imposed. Offer may not be combined with other discounts or promotions.
