Qatar Airways has sent an update to Privilege Club members and offers elite members three months status extension through March 31, 2023, as a Christmas present.
At the bottom of the email, there is also a hint that updates are coming to the program soon. What these updates are, remains unclear.

Note that this status extension doesn’t affect the Privilege Club qualification period at the end of this year.
Conclusion
It is a bit of a surprise that Qatar Airways extended tiers by only three months, considering that flying on the airline has been challenging over the past couple of months due to the World Cup.
Qatar moved to the Avios platform this year, and other airlines issuing Avios have moved or are moving away from giving miles based on the flight distance but purely on the ticket price.
It wouldn’t surprise me if Qatar Airways adopted this change, which is negative for most.
