For the past few weeks I’ve been trying to book an Oman Air flight through Aeroplan and I haven’t been able to find any availability on any of their routes.
On Flyertalk, someone also recently reported that Aeroplan cancelled their upcoming Omain Air flight and rebooked them on Emirates.
Could this be the end of the Aeroplan-Oman Air partnership? Is there anyone at Aeroplan you can reach out to confirm?
Air Canada added Oman Air as an Aeroplan partner in December 2021 (read more here), and I have been wondering about the status of this partnership, as Oman Air has not come up in any of the award searches I have recently completed, where it would have been a good option.
We have been in touch with Aeroplan, who told us that they are aware of the issue that is being resolved and taking longer than they would like. They currently cannot see and access Oman Air’s award inventory.
Conclusion
Air Canada Aeroplan has a very good mix of partner airlines for members to earn and redeem their miles, and Oman Air is one of the partners based in the Middle East.
Let’s hope that these connectivity issues can be resolved soon so that we can continue redeeming Aeroplan miles for their flights.
Oman Air is also set to join Oneworld Alliance in 2024.
