Shangri-La has decided to make the elite renewal easy this year, although it is no blanket extension without any activity.
Circle Jade members, and perhaps Diamonds too, can renew their status by staying or having a point-earning activity at any of their properties, such as lunch or dinner, by December 15, 2022.

Conclusion
The problem with Shangri-La and its Circle is that the chain is heavily skewed for those traveling to mainland China.
There are very few properties in Europe and North America (five altogether).
I’ll probably try to figure out a way to have lunch at the Shangri-La to extend my Jade, which was granted due to a previous Amex Platinum benefit, for another year.
I wonder if Diamond members were extended a similar offer.
