Positioned on the shore of Lake Geneva, with exceptional views of the city’s famous Jet d’Eau and Mont Blanc, The Ritz Carlton – Hotel de la Paix has defined luxury in Geneva since its inception. It has also stood at the crossroads of history, inspiring many memorable gatherings including the International Congress of Peace, and has welcomed high-profile guests from across the globe.
The Grand Hotel de la Paix opened its doors in 1865, following the wave of “Grand Hotels” opening all across Europe during that time. The building, of Italian inspiration, is signed by jean-Marie Gignoux, a local Geneve architect who went for a (rather extravagant for the time) look with its square atrium and marble columns. The property was renovated and rebranded to Ritz Carlton in 2017 and nowadays offers 74 luxury rooms and suites.
