Virgin Australia Velocity 20% Bonus Status Credits On International Routes Through December 31, 2022
Virgin Australia’s Velocity program is offering 20% bonus Status Credits on eligible international flights through the end of the year, allowing you to earn status faster.
Velocity sent out an email to their members informing them of this new campaign that will be in place for the remainder of the year, targeting international travelers.
The email mentions that for domestic connection flights to the international segment bonus credits will not apply. Only the international segment itself is eligible.
It reads:
Earn 20% bonus Status Credits when you book and travel on an eligible Virgin Australia operated or marketed international flights with a VA flight number, by 31 December 2022.
Interestingly there is no landing page on the Virgin Australia website and the link in the email is dead. Only the link to their booking engine works.
Looking at the T&C in detail, it appears that ALL international routes earn the 20% bonus Velocity Status Credits when flying Virgin Australia operated or marketed flights.

Conclusion
Virgin Velocity has come up with yet another campaign that makes obtaining or retaining status easier. International travelers will earn 20% additional status credit until the end of the year for Virgin Australia-operated flights credited to their Velocity account. You don’t have to register for this, all accounts are automatically eligible and will be credited following the flight activity.

*Promotion is valid between 12:01am AEST 01 August 2022 to 11:59pm AEDT 31 December 2022 (inclusive) (Promotion Period). To be eligible for the 20% Bonus Status Credits promotion you must book, ticket and complete travel on an Eligible Flight during the Promotion Period and enter, a valid Velocity membership number to that Eligible Flight prior to commencing travel. An Eligible Flight is any international Virgin Australia operated or marketed flight with a VA flight number for travel between 1 August 2022 and 31 December 2022 (inclusive) that normally earns Status Credits. For more information on Status Credits, click here. Eligible Flights that satisfy the criteria are eligible to earn a 20% bonus. Standalone Virgin Australia domestic flights and domestic connection flights flown as part of an international journey will not be eligible for this Promotion. The promotion is for all Eligible Flights flown during the Promotion Period, regardless of booking date. Bonus Status Credits cannot be earned on Velocity Reward Seat bookings or on Virgin Australia Charter flights. Bonus Status Credits will be applied to the originally purchased fare class and any upgrades (other than when you paid the full commercial fare) will not attract bonus Status Credits as a result of this offer. There is no limit on the amount of times this offer can be redeemed. Where multiple guests are listed on the same booking, only those guests who satisfy the above eligibility criteria are eligible for this offer.
