WestJet has launched a new offer to get its Rewards program members to book new travel between May 24 – July 5.
Members earn double elite qualifying spend through September 6, 2022, if they book after registering for this offer.
Basic and Members Exclusive fares are excluded. You must pay attention to the registration, booking, and travel periods. Only newly made bookings qualify.
These airline offers usually need you to book new travel, and existing bookings don’t qualify, as with this WestJet offer. Also, the lowest fares are excluded (Basic & Member Exclusive).
The WestJet Rewards double qualifying spend offer for spring 2022 (the “Offer”) is available to WestJet Rewards members with Platinum, Gold or Silver status as of May 24, 2022. Members who achieve top-tier status after May 24, 2022 will only become eligible once achieving a minimum of Silver status and only on travel completed after achieving top-tier status.
To participate, eligible members must register individually for the Offer between May 24 and July 5, 2022, and book eligible flights during the same period for travel between May 24 and September 6, 2022 (the “Offer Period”). Registration prior to travel is required and the member’s 9-digit WestJet Rewards ID must be included on the booking(s). Offer valid on new bookings only.
Eligible members will earn double qualifying spend towards tier qualification and milestone awards (known respectively as tier qualifying spend and milestone qualifying spend) on all eligible Economy, Premium, and Business fares on WestJet-marketed flights flown (the “Offer Bonus”) during the Offer Period.
The Offer is valid on the amount spent on the purchase of eligible published base fares, excluding Basic fares and Member Exclusive fares, for WestJet-marketed flights flown by the member during the Offer Period.; taxes, fees and charges are not eligible for tier or milestone qualifying spend. A WestJet-marketed flight is one that has a WS carrier code preceding the flight number and is operated by WestJet, WestJet Encore, WestJet Link by Pacific Coastal, or by a partner airline.
With this Offer, the member will earn the Offer Bonus of 100% of their regular tier qualifying spend and milestone qualifying spend accrued on WestJet flights during the Offer Period, which is calculated as 100% of the amount spent on eligible published base fares. The following are not eligible toward tier qualifying spend or milestone qualifying spend: Basic fares, Member Exclusive fares, contracted fares, tour operator fares, WestJet Vacations packages with Swoop-operated flights, WestJet Vacations group package bookings, partner-marketed flights, ancillary partner bookings made on westjet.com, WestJet Vacations land-only bookings, gift cards, taxes, fees, charges, any portion paid with WestJet dollars or any other reward program redemption. Amounts earned through Status Lift (a benefit of the WestJet RBC World Elite Mastercard) are not eligible toward milestone qualifying spend.
Members will not receive tier and milestone qualifying spend bonus amounts on the purchase of WestJet Vacations packages, regardless of whether they are normally eligible for tier qualifying spend and milestone qualifying spend.
The Offer Bonus amount on WestJet-marketed flights flown will be calculated separately but included in the same transaction and added to your total tier qualifying spend and total milestone qualifying spend. As an example, if you book a Premium fare for travel between Toronto and Calgary during the Offer Period, where the base fare paid is $507 CAD and tier and milestone qualifying spend are each normally awarded at the rate of 100% of the base fare paid, you will receive $507 in each tier qualifying and milestone qualifying spend, plus the Offer Bonus of $507, to total $1014 in tier qualifying spend and $1014 in milestone qualifying spend.
Please allow up to 30 days after travel is completed for bonus tier and milestone qualifying spend to be processed to your account.
As a result of this Offer, the total amount you spend on published base fares to requalify for tier status for 2023 (or, if you have already achieved status for 2023, to achieve a higher tier), will be less than the published spend amounts normally required.
If during Offer Period you reach the total tier qualifying spend to achieve a higher tier ($5,000 for Gold, or $8,000 for Platinum), your account will be upgraded, and the benefits of that tier will be immediately available to you. You will retain these benefits for the remainder of the qualifying year ending December 31, 2022, and the entire next qualifying year ending December 31, 2023. To keep these benefits for a subsequent year, you will need to meet regular tier qualifying spend requirements for Gold or Platinum tier status during the 2023 qualifying year, which commences on January 1, 2023.
With this Offer, you will also be eligible to receive milestone awards, which are directly tied to your milestone qualifying spend at any point in time and are independent of your tier qualifying spend and tier status. As of September 1, 2021, milestone qualifying spend is tracked separately from tier qualifying spend and includes spend on your WestJet travel but excludes amounts earned through Status Lift, a benefit of the WestJet RBC® World Elite Mastercard‡ applicable to tier qualification only. Milestone awards are available starting at $4000 in milestone qualifying spend and every subsequent increment of $2000. Should you be eligible to choose an award (applicable to awards at $8,000 and above), you will be able to make your selection when signed into your account on westjet.com. The bonus tier and milestone qualifying spend accrued because of this Offer counts towards obtaining tier status and milestone awards only; members will not receive any additional WestJet dollars as a result of this Offer.
The Offer may not be combined or used in conjunction with any other offer.
Bonus tier and milestone qualifying spend accrued have no cash value and are subject to current program terms and conditions.
