Emirates on Friday decided to extend member tiers and miles expiry further, and perhaps for the last time.
Skywards Platinum, Gold, and Silver tiers expiring until May 2022 are extended by 12 months, and miles expiry pushed to August 31, 2022.

We’ve extended the validity of any Skywards Miles due to expire on or after April 2020 until Thursday, August 31, 2022.
You can make the most of any Skywards Miles you have that are valid up to or after Thursday, August 31, 2022, on flights with Emirates, flydubai and our partner airlines, which you can book up to 11 months ahead. You can also continue to enjoy Classic Rewards, Upgrade Rewards and rewards with our hotel and lifestyle partners using your Miles.
If your Miles are expiring soon, we’ll support you with special offers so you don’t miss out on your rewards. Review and update your email address on My Profile to ensure you hear from us 2 months before your Miles expire.
Conclusion
The sensible decision from Emirates to extend both member tiers and Skywards miles expiry. I believe that this might be the last extension, as the world is opening up except for specific markets.
