Hilton announced in June last year (read more here) that they would open a new hotel in the Maldives called Hilton Amingiri Resort before the end of the year.
We posted some construction photos (read more here) and wondered if the hotel would open as scheduled. However, the end of 2021 has long gone, and now the hotel indicates that it will open in September 2022, although reservations are not currently open.
You can access Hilton Amingiri Resort here.

Conclusion
It is always good to have more options to earn and redeem points.
It does, however, look that this resort is very packed considering all the villas, both overwater and on land. Not sure how they can ensure the remote Maldivian feeling with all the other people on this tiny island?
There are plenty of options in the Maldives at various price points, and it is interesting to see where the rates settle for this property (hotels always try to open high).
Hilton has now removed all the availability for this hotel for any future date.
