IHG has launched an offer for a second room free offer for stays at select hotels in the UK, Ireland, France, and Germany between April 6 – July 15, 2022.
IHG Rewards members must book a stay of two nights for two rooms by April 20. The price of the second room is adjusted to zero at check-in.

Although this offer is marketed as a “Grandparents Stay Free,” the terms are clear that it is open for any family members, and proof of relationship type is NOT required. The stay must be exactly two nights, and you are not allowed to have back-to-back stays at the same hotel.

The offer is quite limited in the number of participating hotels but good for those who can use it. Especially worthwhile for families that need a second room for the kids.

Grandparents Stay Free (the “Promotion”) is valid only for selected bookings made from 30 March 2022 to 20 April 2022 (both dates inclusive) (the “Booking Dates”) for stays at participating IHG Hotels & Resorts in the United Kingdom & Ireland, France and Germany between 6 April 2022 and 15 July 2022 (both dates inclusive) (the “Stay Dates”) when booking through the ihg.com/grandparents page. When making a booking on the Promotion you will see a charge against the second room, however the hotel will reduce the cheapest room charge to zero on check-in.
Bookings need to be made at least seven (7) days prior to the check-in date. If you cancel your booking at any time or you do not arrive at the hotel on your check-in date you will be charged an amount equivalent to the total cost of the first chargeable room for the two night stay. There is a fixed two (2) consecutive night length of stay for each Booking (shorter or longer stays are not permitted in this Promotion). Consecutive stays at the same hotel without check-out / check-in are not permitted and will not count for this Promotion.
The Promotion allows grandparents or other family members to stay free in a second room when making a booking under the same name, for two rooms, in the same hotel, on the same dates, with one room at no charge. This Promotion only allows for room only bookings with a maximum of two rooms per booking (with one such room being the free room). . The cheapest room on the booking, based on the flexible rate charged by the hotel at the time of making the booking, will be reduced to EUR 0/ £0 on check-in. No proof of relationship is required to redeem the Promotion. All other conditions, inclusions and cancellation policy are dependent upon the rate booked. Breakfast cannot be added whilst booking online, however can be added during the check-in process in property.
Only bookings made through IHG Brand websites, IHG App, or Central Reservations may qualify for the Promotion, and for IHG Rewards Points. Standard IHG Rewards program terms and conditions apply.
