The InterContinental Barcelona is the latest addition of the chain in Spain. Formerly a Crowne Plaza, this property went through major renovations of all their rooms, suites and public areas. The hotel reopened under the InterContinental brand in September 2021.

The Premium Suite is divided into two separate spaces. The living area is finished with luxurious details, whilst the bedroom features a magnificent king size bed. These suites have a surface of 55 sqm and offer views of Barcelona’s skyline or of its streets. Access to the exclusive Club InterContinental® Lounge is included.

The former Crowne Plaza was an old and tired convention/business hotel (as it is located right in front of one of the city convention centers). The renovations done with the reflagging on all interior spaces are nice, elegant and well done, definitely a change from what was there before. Just one complain: the lounge offerings were a joke!
