Conclusion
Wyndham Rewards recently moved away from flat 15,000 points per night award pricing structure. Instead, hotels now require 7,500/15,000/30,000 or more points per night.
Buying points can make sense if you can use them at a hotel when the paid rates are high while award inventory still exists.

Between March 21, 2023, 12:00:01 am EDT and April 21, 2023, 11:59:59 pm EDT (the “Promotion Period”), this offer provides Wyndham Rewards members who purchase Wyndham Rewards points from points.com in accordance with these terms and conditions additional points in an amount equal to 40% of their point purchase (the additional points earned pursuant to these terms, the “Bonus”) and raises the annual limit on Wyndham Rewards points purchases through points.com from a total of sixty thousand Wyndham Rewards points (the “Standard Limit”) to a total of one hundred twenty thousand Wyndham Rewards points (the “Increased Limit”). For clarity, (i) Bonuses are not counted for the purpose of determining whether the Standard Limit or Increased Limit has been reached, and (ii) the Increased Limit will expire simultaneously with the Promotion Period, at which time the Standard Limit will again come into effect for the 2023 calendar year. Purchases of fewer than 3,000 points in a single transaction will not qualify for any Bonus hereunder. (The foregoing minimum purchase requirement applies each time a purchase is made during the Promotion Period.)
